Just For Fun

Ok...so I have to say that this is just for fun because if Emily sees the outcomes of some of these baby morphings.....she may never let Hunter enter the world!!! With that in mind I have been thinking a lot about what this little guy is gonna look like. I mean- the deck is stacked against him, at least on my shallow end of the gene pool...but I did some searching! Since Emily's eyes are green and my eyes are blue, there is a 50/50 shot for Hunters eyes to be green and a 50/50 shot for them to be blue . So Emily will be happy about that! At the same time I decided to do a little messing around with some picture morphing software and see (just for laughs) what the little tyke could possibly look like. I only tried a few times....but these are what I ended up with.

So....more to come.....Possibly....we will see what Em thinks of these!!!!

By Any Other Name!

Chances are most of you who read the blog already knew the going name for our "home makeover baby addition" which will come to fruition in May. Even so Emily chose to take a page out of the Weaver baby blog handbook with the ole' "Cat...Bag?" story, and mentioned his name in one of her recent blogs. Anyways...not as though it was some big surprise but the lil bun in the oven will go by Hunter Ehren Chapman, when he is not being oogeled and baby talked to being called cutie and sweetie. We did very little quibbling about what the name would be (although Emily wanted to name him after furniture at first "Ethan Allen") but more so about how we would spell it. I do not profess to be an excellent speller, in fact….any blog I type, is first written in Microsoft Word and spell checked before I ever even think about posting it, but I really think I am right on this one. I wanted something strong and with character and we both agreed on the name (AARON) but I wanted a different spelling! Em waivered a bit but started throwing out some suggestions....she leaned strongly towards erin, erinn, ehrin, ehrinne.....but I denounced them all as feminine spellings. Finally I talked her into the old English (Irish) spelling "Ehren" I love it!!!! Some may think that I am naming my son after one of my favorite things to do....this is not the case, if it were his name would have been golfer!!!! But that is not very becoming now is it.

February 2nd Ultrasound & Dr Appt

After an extra long ultrasound and an exam my worries were set to rest as I was reassured that everything was fine. The baby is doing great and I'm getting used to the contractions even though they feel really strange :)

Heartbeat:
Peek-a-Boo:

Braxton Hicks

Being that this is my first baby I'm reading the baby books like crazy to not only find out what's new with the baby but to also keep me informed of changes that are happening with my body. The book I rely on the most is a week to week book that tells me what to expect....I have however lost faith in this as it did not tell me contractions could begin this early on.

Long story short...contractions began Saturday night (Jan 31st) and I was completely freaking out. I called the OB emergency line at the hospital and she quickly informed me that I was probably experiencing braxton hicks (sporadic uterine contractions). I hung up the phone and of course worried the rest of the weekend but was so thankful I had another ultrasound scheduled for Monday so that I could be reassured that everything was okay.
