Pugsley

On Wednesday, April 22nd Pugsley passed away. He became sick on Tuesday, April 21st and suddenly went down hill within a day. We had blood tests and xrays done at the vet's office but they couldn't find anything wrong. We are still in shock as to what happened and why he was taken from us so quickly.

For those of you who know us well know that Pugsley was more like our little boy rather than our pet. Nathan's family in Spokane, Washington owned Pugsley (until he was around 2 years old or so) and wanted to get rid of him so we had him flown over to us in 2002 I believe. I couldn't wait for him to get here as I fell in love with him the minute I saw him in Spokane. He has lived with my parents, Nate's parents, in our first home (The Yellow Rental) and our newly built home. We have tried to give him the best puppy life he could possibly have with tons of treats, a special dinner every night, his little toys (his favorite was the little mice cat's play with) and a comfy bed. I don't know how many times I just stared at that dog thinking I couldn't love anything more than I loved him. He was always by my side no matter what I was doing....watched me cook dinner every night, sat beside me while I cleaned the house, barked when I swept the floors and the list goes on and on. Nathan and I never thought we would loose Pugsley when we did and we have both taken it very hard. He was so special to both of us and no other pet will ever take his place. We buried him in a sunny place in our woods where flowers bloom each year and plan on ordering a stone with his picture on it.

Do We Have Enough Diapers???

For those of you who have heard the diaper story know....that bargain shopper me had $5 off diaper/wipe coupons....I think we might have enough :)

Baby Hunter's Room

As I'm approaching the 35 week mark Nathan and I are getting more and more nervous about baby Hunter's arrival. I've had so much fun these last few weeks with all of the showers we have had and the gifts we have received that I just set around in his room gazing at everything and wondering how it will be when he arrives. Currently his room looks more like a baby department store so this week we plan to begin putting everything together and setting up his room.

Updated: First Piece of Nursery Furniture

If you remember from an earlier post Nathan and I purchased a glider and ottoman for $25 secondhand. Grandma (Lynne) Chapman was nice enough to reupholster both the chair and ottoman for baby Hunter's Room :)

Emily's Work Shower

On April 7th my work had a "surprise" shower for me (okay, I admit it....I snooped and found out about it beforehand so it wasn't really a surprise). The shower was absolutely wonderful with all kinds of yummy food and tons of gifts. Everyone was so sweet!

Childbirth Education Class 101

On April 5th Nathan & I attended the Childbirth Class at O'bleness Memorial Hospital. After 3.5 hours of videos, diagrams and breathing and relaxation demonstrations Nathan was to say the least bored to death (of course he was...he has nothing to worry about!). We then toured the birth center....I thought this would help put my mind at ease but seemed to just make the birthing process even more scarier to me. I think Hunter's comfy where he's at...why should we disturb him???? :)
